The Evening Beach Life
Recently I went to palavakkam beach to enjoy the breeze last week. ( Ok I really went to have some nice momos at the Rikki's ) So after having a plate of momo's visited the beach. BTW writing this while hearing the waves of the sea from Gokarna at 2:30 AM.
There was this cute couple. They parked the car in the road and brought a beach towel which they spread it before their car and took their home cooked food and few snacks. They had one kid who was playing as well. Loved it.
You must be wondering this is kind of normal Naveen, there are a lot of people who come during the weekends do that what's special.
I know guys I too see it every weekend but this was in a weekday at around 4:30 pm which made me think a bit more into it. Isn't that perfect too isn't? The sunset time for Chennai is 4:30 to 5:30. I mean just the timing does eliminate a major chunk of workforce 9-5 job goers and good luck in finding a business man who is free in the evenings. The only sunset a person can watch is from their office glass windows which is also tinted!!!!! good luck on that.
I can't even digest how we humans as a collective have decided that this is the best way to spend a good chunk of the best parts of a day.
I started freelancing during my college days and I used to work with U.S clients directly I knew in 2014 remote work would be the future. I was thinking it would take a decade or two to see the importance. COVID just put a rocket booster to it and making work from home / remote work a well know concept that everyone accepts or prefers now.
We have seen rapid improvements in AI recently and the next is going to be robotics which is a much more harder problem as it is physical. Once these two merge we humans as a collective can focus on more important things like living life. Hello!
Marking up prices and selling it for profit is not the best thing you could do in life. There are more profound things like enjoying a evening beach time peacefully with your family that is more humane at its nature.
So what should you do? I am not asking you to quit your job right now you block head but find ways to be greedy to have a job and also enjoy life. Being a little greedy is not a bad thing at all. You can start by just requesting a leave for a random weekday and take your family to the beach and sink that moment into your memory. Once the AI and Robots does all the menial jobs you are doing you can do this everyday. :)
